| 5. * | As to one who regards Himself as self-sufficient, | As for the rich man. | But/as for who availed/sufficed (rejected). | ama mn astGni | |||
| 6. * | To him dost thou attend; | You gave him your attention. | So you are for him paying attention/being concerned with. | fant lh tSdi | |||
| 7. * | Though it is no blame to thee if he grow not (in spiritual understanding). | Even though you could not guarantee his salvation. | And it (is) not on you that he not purifies/corrects (himself). | wma`lyk ala yzki | |||
| 8. * | But as to him who came to thee striving earnestly, | The one who came to you eagerly. | And but/as for who came to you striving/hastening. | wama mn ja'k ys`i | |||
| 9. * | And with fear (in his heart), | And is really reverent. | And he fears. | whw yK$i | |||
| 10. * | Of him wast thou unmindful. | You ignored him. | So you are from him distracted/preoccupied. | fant `nh tlhi | |||
| 11. * | By no means (should it be so)! For it is indeed a Message of instruction: | Indeed, this is a reminder. | No, but that it truly is a reminder. | kla anha tXkr+ | |||
| 12. * | Therefore let whoso will, keep it in remembrance. | Whoever wills shall take heed. | So who wanted/willed remembered/mentioned Him. | fmn $a' Xkrh | |||
| 13. * | (It is) in Books held (greatly) in honour, | In honorable scriptures. | In honoured written pages/sheets (scriptures). | fy SHf mkrm+ | |||
| 14. * | Exalted (in dignity), kept pure and holy, | Exalted and pure. | Raised, purified. | mrfw`+ mThr+ | |||
| 15. * | (Written) by the hands of scribes- | (Written) by the hands of messengers. | By messengers'/scribes'/writers' hands. | baydy sfr+ | |||
| 16. * | Honourable and Pious and Just. | Who are honorable and righteous. | Honoured/generous, righteous/obedient. | kram brr+ | |||

| 19. * | From a sperm-drop: He hath created him, and then mouldeth him in due proportions; | From a tiny drop, He creates him and designs him. | From a drop/male's or female's secretion He created him, so He predestined/evaluated/estimated him. | mn nTf+ Klqh fqdrh | |||
| 20. * | Then doth He make His path smooth for him; | Then He points out the path for him. | Then (to) the road/path He eased him. | xm alsbyl ysrh | |||
| 21. * | Then He causeth him to die, and putteth him in his grave; | Then He puts him to death, and into the grave | Then He made him die, so He caused him to be buried in a grave. | xm amath faqbrh | |||

| 26. * | And We split the earth in fragments, | Then we split the soil open. | Then We split/cracked the earth/Planet Earth splitting/cracking. | xm $qqna alarD $qa | |||
| 27. * | And produce therein corn, | We grow in it grains. | So We sprouted/grew in it seeds/grains. | fanbtna fyha Hba | |||
| 28. * | And Grapes and nutritious plants, | Grapes and pasture. | And grapes and all trees and vegetation when it regrows for animal consumption i.e.) clover. | w`nba wqDba | |||
| 29. * | And Olives and Dates, | Olives and palms. | And olives and palm trees. | wzytwna wnKla | |||
| 30. * | And enclosed Gardens, dense with lofty trees, | A variety of orchards. | And dense/luxurious fenced gardens. | wHdaYq Glba | |||
| 31. * | And fruits and fodder,- | Fruits and vegetables. | And fruits and grass/hay/herbs. | wfakh+ waba | |||
| 32. * | For use and convenience to you and your cattle. | To provide life support for you and your animals. | Enjoyment for you and for your camels/livestock. | mta`a lkm wlan`amkm | |||
| 33. * | At length, when there comes the Deafening Noise,- | Then, when the blow comes to pass. | So when the Deafening Noise/Resurrection Day came. | faXa ja't alSaK+ | |||
| 34. * | That Day shall a man flee from his own brother, | That is the day when one flees from his brother. | A day/time the human/man escapes/flees from his brother. | ywm yfr almr' mn aKyh | |||

| 41. * | Blackness will cover them: | Overwhelmed by remorse. | Smoke/dust burdens/depresses/oppresses it. | trhqha qtr+ | |||
